The Opportunity
Position: Associate - Corporate Commercial Law, Policy and Compliance (Bilingual)
As an Associate in our Corporate Commercial Law, Policy & Compliance practice, you will play a key role in advising clients on legal, regulatory, and policy matters. You will work on a diverse range of files involving corporate transactions, legislative interpretation, and compliance strategy. This role is ideal for a bilingual lawyer with strong analytical skills and a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on corporate commercial matters, including contracts, transactions, and governance.
Draft, review, and interpret legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and compliance reports.
Assist clients in developing and implementing policies that align with legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting clients.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure legal and policy alignment.
Support clients in regulatory filings, audits, and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
Must be a JD and member in good standing with the Law Society of New Brunswick.
Must reside in New Brunswick.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.
Demonstrated experience in corporate commercial law, policy development, or regulatory compliance.
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in both English and French.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preference will be given to candidates who reside within a commutable distance to one of our four New Brunswick locations, however, for the right candidate, this position can be structured as hybrid.
